Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/x) Bare Metal Kubernetes
Our Hetzner Cloud team consists of around 70 employees and works both remotely across Germany and from our office in Munich (Unterföhring).
We are the Operations Team of Hetzner Cloud and are responsible for the stability, security, and scalability of our production environments. Our focus is on developing and operating our Core Platform which is based on Kubernetes. We act as consultants and enablers for technical questions and support other teams in using our platform according to the self-service principle. We emphasise close collaboration and continuous knowledge exchange with all departments.
This position includes an on-call rotation to maintain our services which can be performed remotely within Germany.

Your tasks
- You will operate our infrastructure platform, continuously develop it, and manage the operation of servers and applications based on Kubernetes
- You will monitor our monitoring systems and optimise automations for complex, distributed systems to keep them secure and up-to-date
- You value agile working methods, contribute your ideas, and share your knowledge to support the team
Your profile
- You have solid knowledge of Linux and in operating Kubernetes on Bare Metal servers
- You are experienced in networking techniques (routing, firewall, ideally in Kubernetes CNIs like Cilium, BGP)
- You are familiar with Infrastructure as Code (Flux, Helm, Ansible)
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka is a plus
- You have a proactive attitude, learn quickly, and are enthusiastic about new technologies
- You are business fluent in both German and English
